Rise of Ancients (Part One) was recorded before Covenant of Ash had label support, roughly one to two years before The Death of Leaders. The EP was held back partly because of practical circumstances and partly because its Lovecraftian atmosphere stood apart from the band’s historical material. With the official catalogue now taking shape, the band chose to release it as a deliberate detour into ancient fear, forbidden knowledge and ruins older than human history.

Rise of Ancients (Part One) was not part of the original release plan. Recorded before The Death of Leaders, during the years when Covenant of Ash had no label support, the EP was held back partly because of practical circumstances and partly because its Lovecraftian atmosphere stood apart from the band’s historical material.

Previously recorded material from the band’s early years, now released as a darker, ritualistic companion to the official catalogue.
Although released shortly after The Death of Leaders, Keepers of Rot belongs to an earlier period of Covenant of Ash. Recorded roughly two to three years before the band’s first major official album, the five-track release remained unheard during the band’s independent years. After securing label support, the band chose to bring this darker, more ritualistic material into the official catalogue.
