About

Covenant of Ash

live life as you want

Covenant of Ash hails from the ancient coastal city of Kalmar, Sweden—a place where centuries of history echo through the stone walls and sea winds. Staying true to their name, the members choose to remain anonymous, letting the music and stories speak louder than identities.

Raised on a steady diet of rock legends like Twisted Sister and KISS, the band’s foundation was built on big riffs, wild energy, and the raw joy of music. As they grew, their taste turned heavier, discovering the melodic power and storytelling of Swedish greats like In Flames, Amon Amarth, and the pioneers of the Gothenburg sound. It was here, between aggression and atmosphere, that Covenant of Ash found their creative calling.

Despite the dark themes and heavy tone of their music, the band holds one philosophy above all: music should be fun. Life is too short to take everything seriously—especially when there’s great company, cold beers, a shot of gin or whiskey, and the volume turned all the way up.

For Covenant of Ash, metal is more than sound. It's a shared ritual, a history lesson, a good time, and a hell of a lot of noise.

Latest Release: Rise of Ancients (Part One)

The stars are right. The deep calls. The veil is thinning.

With Rise of Ancients (Part One), Covenant of Ash begins its descent into the shadowed mythos of H.P. Lovecraft—a world of forbidden knowledge, ancient cults, and beings so vast and alien that sanity itself begins to unravel in their presence.

This album is not just music—it's a chronicle of humanity’s brush with the unknowable. Each track is drawn from Lovecraft’s most haunting tales, reimagined through crushing riffs, chilling atmospheres, and the melodic ferocity that defines the Covenant of Ash sound.

Tracklist & Song Descriptions

1. Call from the Deep
The oceans are no longer silent. Inspired by The Call of Cthulhu, this opening track unleashes the cultic rhythms and apocalyptic dread of the sleeper beneath the waves. The deep god stirs—and the world begins to dream.

2. Whisperer in Darkness
A swirling descent into paranoia and cosmic deception. Based on the novella of the same name, this track explores the terror of voices in the dark and the horror that lurks in distant stars.

3. Escape from Innsmouth
Groove-laden and urgent, this track captures the desperate flight from the drowned city of Innsmouth. Fish-eyed watchers gather, and bloodlines come full circle as the tide rises to reclaim its own.

4. Born of the Outer Gate
A chaotic invocation of the gatekeepers of reality. Drawing from Lovecraft’s pantheon of outer gods, this song tears open the fabric of space and lets the unclean energies flood in.

5. The City Beyond the Ice
A chilling tribute to At the Mountains of Madness. Towering structures, non-Euclidean geometry, and the echoes of something once godlike—but now forgotten—lie buried beneath Antarctic frost.

6. The Whateley Thing
A brutal and twisted finale inspired by The Dunwich Horror. The Whateleys’ unholy legacy erupts in chaos as that which was never meant to live breaks through. The hills scream, and the stars answer.

Rise of Ancients (Part One) is only the beginning.
The deeper horrors have not yet risen.

Part Two approaches. Until then—listen, witness, and beware.
